Matt Britt has been a Headteacher and Principal for over 13 years in a wide range of settings, from semi-rural Kent to a diverse church school in Lewisham, South London. Matt is currently a Primary Executive Principal for the Harris Federation and is based at Harris Primary Academy Chafford Hundred.
In his current role Matt opened Harris Primary Academy Mayflower in 2014, the largest primary free school in the UK, working with Principal Katie Hanley to achieve an ‘Outstanding‘ judgement in May 2017. Matt has also worked as a School Improvement Partner and Consultant Leader with the National College for Teaching and Leadership, where he served for 4 years as a member of the National College’s governing council between 2002 and 2006.
Since September 2019 Matt has been Assistant Director for Primary Education at Harris Federation. Responsible for a cluster of primary academies across South London and Thurrock.
